In honor of breast cancer awareness month, we would like to highlight two of our beloved athletes who have lost a loved one due to breast cancer. Casey and Alexa are new to the Rock Starz family, but some of the hardest working athletes we have on our teams. Casey, age 17 is on Diamonds, our prestigious level 5 team. Alexa, age 13 is on Platinum, our nationally award-winning level 4 team. Both the girls are dedicated, well-rounded and inspiring to all! To Casey and Alexa, being a Rock Star means that you are the "best of the best!" They both love the people, positivity and friendly environment. Casey is especially excited about being on Diamonds this year. With her new found accomplishment of coed stunting, she feels like the team has a whole has a good season ahead. Alexa is also looking forward to her season on Platinum. After landing her standing back tuck, she's feeling excited about her season and what other skills she can accomplish. From many years of competitive cheer, both the girls have learned that cheerleading is a very intense, team-oriented sport. Since they were young, Casey and Alexa spent a decent amount of their childhood trying to find a sport they truly loved. From the soccer field, to the softball field, and then the dance studio- they tried it all! Their mother was their biggest supporter, for she had them "try everything until you find something you love." They feel as if it wasn't for her motivation, they may not have become cheerleaders and fallen in love with all that it has to offer. Today, Casey motivates herself to be the best athlete she can be, while Alexa stays motivated by her sister. They both enjoy being apart of a team that is family-oriented and fun. Their favorite memory as Rock Stars thus far is the team sleepover a couple weeks ago. Casey especially enjoyed staying up all night, playing games and bonding with her team. "It has been my pleasure this season to welcome both Casey and Alexa Ellis to Rock Starz on our Platinum and Diamonds teams. Words cannot describe how strong and dedicated these two young women are and their love for the sport and their fellow teammates shines through during each and every practice. Naturally, they take the time to socialize with their friends, but they are among the first to reel it in and get serious at practice when the situation calls for it. I can always depend on these sisters to set an example for their teammates and to push themselves until their stunts and tumbling passes are consistent. I am very excited to see what the future holds for Rock Starz and could not be happier that Casey and Alexa are a part of our incredible family!" -Coach Scott We are excited to see both Casey and Alexa evolve this season and continue to do well! Way to go, girls! In honor breast cancer awareness and Casey and Alexa's mom, we would like to dedicate our 3-day Woodward clinic to their family.
